Courmayeur
Courmayeur is worth of its reputation. This little mountain town is beautiful, the streets of its centre filled with luxury boutiques and local shops offer the marvellous surrounding for the spectacular balcony over the valley and Mont Blanc chain. Here you can find diverse luxurious shops, restaurants, bars, pubs but nightclubs as well, which is an exception for this part of the Valley, where night life is quite scarce…. All this together renders Courmayeur a desired and exclusive destination, in particular for the Italians, but a rather expensive destination as well.
Courmayeur, obviously is not only “chic” and “style life”, but first of all it is one of the main headquarter of alpinism and mountaineering, attracting athletes of every level from all around the World. The ski slopes are beautiful, but the free-ride is even better. The trails for both hiking and biking are magnificent and make this little town the crossroad of important regional and transnational trails. Milestone of the Tour of Mont Blanc, but also starting point of various Via Ferrata or other more relaxing walks to little mountain refuges (and their “polenta”).
